WHAT'S IN IT?
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained
6 tablespoons cold water
1/2 small jalapeno pepper (remove seeds if you're not a spice fan!)
1 small clove garlic
2 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste)
Juice of one lemon
1/4 teaspoon salt
For dunking into the Quicksand:
4 fresh whole wheat pitas, sliced into wedges
1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes (optional)
1/2 English cucumber, cut into "chips" (slices) (optional)
STUFF YOU NEED
This is a family recipe. Kids and Parents: you'll need each other to make it!
HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER
- For Kids: Toss into a blender container the chickpeas, water, jalapeno, garlic, tahini, lemon and salt. Blend on low speed for 30 seconds or until pureed, pulsing if necessary.
- Serve the Quicksand with pita wedges, tomatoes and/or cucumber "chips."
